Peters Mill Run

REVIEW – Peters Mill Run is the closest off roading opportunity to the DC area. While the 4×4 trails aren’t difficult it’s an excellent opportunity for beginners to get a feel for their, and their rig’s, capabilities while not being too far from home in case of trouble. It’s a mix of OHV and ATV trails so make sure to print off a copy of the map before leaving. The OHV Trail is 433.
DISTANCE FROM BELTWAY – 93 Miles

CAMPINGLittle Fort Campground is on the north end of the trail – 38 52′ 05.51″ N 78 26′ 31.49″ W. There are a total of 11 campsites with individual fire pits and a set of vault toilets. Sites are free and on a first come first serve basis.
BEST OF LOCAL – Aside from basic gas station fare there isn’t much to eat directly adjacent to the park. But Front Royal is just 20 miles to the north and has a number of great places to eat along with all the the basic fast food and chain hotels you could want. If you want a spectacular 100 mile view try climbing Woodstock Tower 38 52′ 13.46″ N 78 26′ 57.84″ W.
